Teaches you how to create and program a game from ground zero to finish, using the integrated tutorials. The created games can be exported to Windows desktop, Mac OS X, Ubuntu, Android, iOS, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One. The main operation or the most used will be Drag and Drop, a very simple way to create a game.

Video games are a very popular form of entertainment. GameMaker Studio allows you to create your own 2D games in a rather easy form.
The program lets you start creating your game from scratch. It has two options: Drag-and-Drop, and Game Maker Language. The first one is by far the easiest, since you only need to select the elements you want to include in your game, and drop them into the workspace. The second one needs you to have a solid programming knowledge.

Please note that, although the program is marketed as being for everyone, truth is that you need some programing knowledge (or being willing to learn) to take advantage of all the program's features. Fortunately, it includes a tutorial which will teach you how to use the basic features, so if you are a complete beginner, you can start by studying this material.

A drawback of the program is that you need to create an account in the YoYo Games website in order to download the shareware version of the program. Also, it is subscription-based, meaning that you don't own the program after paying, but only have the right of using it during a year. If you intend to use it after the expiration date, then you need to pay another yearly fee. You can try the shareware version during 30 days to see if it is what you expect.

If you are a professional or amateur game designer, then you may want to try this program.

This is a really great program! It makes programming a lot easier! I know from experience that OMSI (Oregon Museum of Science and Industry) uses this for classes!
